This list ranks the ten countries that received the most international tourist arrivals in 2024, the latest year for which UN Tourism (formerly the UN World Tourism Organization) has published a full country ranking. Arrivals count overnight visitors crossing an international border, not unique people. European countries take seven of the ten places, led by France with 102.0 million arrivals. The United States is third and Japan, ninth, is the only Asian country in the top ten.

Countries are ranked by international tourist arrivals (overnight visitors) in calendar year 2024, as published in UN Tourism's International Tourism Highlights, 2025 Edition; the 2023 figure for each country comes from the same table. Figures were read from Wikipedia's 'World Tourism rankings' article, which reproduces that table, because UN Tourism's own site could not be reached; several figures were cross-checked against news coverage of the UN Tourism release. We use 2024 rather than 2025 because full-year 2025 figures for France, the United Kingdom and Germany were still listed as pending. Only sovereign countries are ranked. China does not appear in UN Tourism's 2024 top-ten table as reproduced, and we found no UN Tourism 2024 arrivals figure for China, so China is not ranked; national figures from other sources are not used because they are not on the same basis. Receipts figures in the blurbs are UN Tourism's 2024 international tourism receipts in US dollars. Rank 1 is the most arrivals.

Arrivals. Each time an overnight visitor enters a country it counts as one arrival, so a person who visits three countries on one trip is counted once in each, and a person who visits the same country twice in a year is counted twice.
In 2024 the United States had fewer arrivals than France (72.4 million vs 102.0 million) but far higher international tourism receipts (US$215.0 billion vs US$77.1 billion), meaning visitors to the US spent much more per arrival on average.
UN Tourism estimates about 1.52 billion international tourist arrivals worldwide in 2025, but full-year 2025 figures for several leading countries, including France, the United Kingdom and Germany, were still pending, so a complete 2025 ranking was not available.
