Amazon River
The Amazon River is by far the largest river in the world by discharge, with an average flow of approximately 209,000 m³/s — more than the combined flow of the next seven largest rivers. The Amazon discharges into the Atlantic Ocean and accounts for roughly 15–18% of all freshwater entering the oceans globally. During the wet season, the river can rise over 10 meters and flood an area the size of England. Its basin spans seven countries in South America.
